Nadine Yiang, one of our core volunteers over the last year or so, is currently doing an internship with Friends’ Programs Director, Kelly Rose, and it turns out that she’s also a taker of beautiful photos. Nadine shared these photos with us, taken with her iPhone at the salt marsh during May’s monthly open house, and we just loved them.
Definitely a unique perspective of Ballona!

The Friends’ June Open House
Every second Saturday, the Friends of Ballona Wetlands host an open house at the Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve in Playa del Rey, CA. Visitors to the wetlands are free to walk the trails at their own pace. Microscopes, a spotting scope or two, and knowledgeable docents are provided by the Friends, but ultimately this is a day for the public to soak in the beauty and peacefulness of Ballona, an urban oasis that must be experienced in person to be fully appreciated.
